WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

Eisley acoustic at the Crocodile

Posted over 2 years ago
Eisley started off their very first acoustic tour in Seattle last night. It was a great show! Some highlights:
1. It was my first time seeing the band live and I was pretty blown away by the girls' voices. Stacy Dupree could sing the Meow Mix jingle for two hours and I'm pretty sure I'd still pay $15 to hear it.
2. We got there just in time to grab two of the few rows of seats! Hooray for no lower back pain. The small venue was awesome (paper mache cobras and all) for this type of show and the place ended up packed (~250). I was also pretty surprised at the diversity of their fanbase.
3. Not rehearsing (which they admitted to early in the night) never payed off so well. With the venue being so intimate, they just apologized and regrouped when they (most often Sherri) had some trouble remembering how to play their old songs. There was some improv humming as well. It was unprofessional in the best way possible.
4. Little sister and non-Eisley member Christy Dupree sang with Wesley Jenson, who opened for Eisley and needless to say, she is an amazing singer as well.
5. I got a wonderfully awkward picture taken with Weston, the drummer.
6. The band played lots of old songs including Trolleywood, Marvelous Things, My Lovely, Golly Sandra, I Wasn't Prepared, and Telescope Eyes along with a buncha new ones including Combinations, Invasion, and a few I don't remember the names of. Here is one I especially liked: (All five of them are onstage but with the dim lights its hard to see the boys in the back but they did a great job)

  2. captheoldtimes says Yeah, it was my first time at the croc and I was pretty surprised they had chairs out.. especially because that left little room for all those standing up and the place was pretty full. Those are really nice pictures!

  3. amber says The Croc is one of my favorite venues...You'll have to go back again. Right up the street is the Noodle Ranch. That's one of my favorite divey mediocre Thai restaurants/bar. Maybe I'll see you in that neighborhood some day!
