Artist: Album: Fox Confessor Brings the Flood, Rebels Rogues & Sworn Brothers

What the hell was I waiting on? I had Neko Case's previous albums and even the New Pornographers CDs. For some reason, I kept opting for other music when it came time to buy something. I wasted months of not hearing this great album.

If you're a Lucero fan, you can preorder the new CD, "Rebels, Rogues & Sworn Brothers" (produced by Cracker/Camper Van Beethoven frontman David Lowery). When you preorder, you get a free digital download of the complete album. I've been listening to it for a couple of days now. The biggest difference is the addition of a piano. And what a difference it is. The album is great although it took me a couple of listens to get used to the piano. Now I love it. Order here if you're interested: www.luceromusic.com.

You're like the tenth person to rave about the Neko Case record since I've been a MOGger. I'm gonna have to pull the trigger on my basket. $100 Amazon bill, here I come. Thanks a lot, Captain. ;)

@ willamina Based on music in your collection, I think you'll really like the Neko Case cd. Furnace Room Lullaby was another one by her that I really liked. This one grabs me like Furnace Room did.

Picked up the new Golden Smog today. 8 years was too long to wait for a new CD, but it's all worth it now. What a great sound they have. "New" Kevn Kinney is on the way. However, I'm a little disappointed to hear that it might be covers of his old songs. But I can't find a track listing online to confirm.

This was an old post. Thanks for reminding me how slack i've been! Golden Smog is the band that consists of members from Wilco, the Jayhawks and Soul Asylum. Kind of a rock side project a la Traveling Wilburys. You can check them out here.

I picked up four new CD's this weekend: Peter Walker "Young Gravity," Band of Horses "Everything All the Time," Cracker "Greenland," and Shawn Mullins "9th Ward Pickin' Parlor". Problem is, I'm addicted to Pandora right now so that's getting all of my attention. Hopefully, I'll get to listen to the CD's today if I can peel myself away from building stations.

Yes I did! Of the four, Band of Horses is by far the best. Kind of a Neil Young/My Morning Jacket thing. I really didn't expect much from the Shawn Mullins CD but I ended up liking it, although completely different from my usual stuff. Still haven't caught on to the Cracker CD yet, maybe for the opposite reason that my hopes were too high. And I have to agree with your Ryan Adams "Heartbreaker" Pity Party call.
