WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Time Machine Songs

Posted over 2 years ago
There was a time when I couldn't listen to the song "Your Song" by Elton John because it took me back to a time in my life that I was trying to forget.Music evokes memories, some good, some not so good. Of love. Of parties. Of quiet afternoons. Of vacation. Of just about anything that, because of the music, makes the memory that much more vivid. What's the key music that takes you somewhere?

  3. Amy Honey says i am so sensitive to music... most of it conjures up memories of some sort. i think the most powerful music to me is the stuff that i discover right when i'm going through bad stuff: Dinosaur Jr. Lucinda Williams Pajo and ahem, going waaaay back... Guns and Roses (November Rain to be exact) wow, did i just admit that out loud?

  4. Cinful says I'm right there with Amy ... if a song talks about something that's been a huge thing in my life, I know there will be a twinge in my chest. Ever since my father died, I've never been able to hear "The Star Spangled Banner" without full tears ... yep, I'm a music mush ...

  5. James12 says Music, man, has such a powerful effect, we tend to tag certain moments of our lives with song, and like deadmandeadman said, "In My Life", that has such an effect on me, sometimes I can't even listen to it, or "Yesterday", it just takes me all back to the time when I was on top of the world, and If I listen to something like "Creep", it reminds me of where I am today, nowhere....
