WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Lift

Posted about 1 year ago
I know this has been written about here before, but heck, it's what's on my mind right now.Lift. What gives it to you? I worked from home today and had nothing but trouble getting the darn network connection to give me more than terrible performance, making my work day pretty non productive. Around 3 this afternoon I was sitting there feeling too much stress over the whole thing and staring out the window at the garden. With the 15 cedar trees I bought last week sitting in their buckets still waiting for tomorrow. Saturday. Chore day. "That's what I need," I thought to myself. That'll give me the lift I need. So out I went and planted three of the buggers. It was hard work, with each tree weighing in at around 75 lbs. Dig the hole. Pull the tree out of its bucket. Put the tree into the hole. Pull the tree out of the hole that you now realize was too small. Re-dig the hole. Put the tree back in. Maybe do it all over again unless I'm lucky. It's hard work, at the end of which I felt pretty darned good. Then I went for a ride on the motorcycle.I was, how can I put it, lifted.Endorphins are wonderful things. But darn, it was now too late to go back to work. Ah well, there's always Monday.P.S. I titled this post before I found the song, and if this one doesn't give you the lift you need... (I love it when a plan comes together:-)

Groon says Well, MOG has apparantly decided that I'm not allowed to actually listen to any of the mp3s people post anymore, as nothing happens when I click on the red dots. i can get about two a day to work before it's decided that I've listened to enough music. So I can't comment on the tunes, but about the rest: What gives me a lift? Some, in part, related to yours; I love those days where I get a lot done. Feeling like I've really accomplished something. Having a day to spend with my kids where I don't spend the whole time pulling my hair out because of them. Those days have been few and far between, recently, and I'm not sure if the problem is them or me. The perfect song at the perfect time. Some time to myself.
