Timeless

These are dog days. I wrote a few weeks ago about the heat, but by comparison it was fairly cool back then at a mere 28 degrees. (83 F) Today it hit 34 here (95F) and the forecast is for 35 tomorrow (96.5F) and through to next week.
It's eerie looking out onto the street that's usually active with people walking their dogs, kids playing in the park, gardeners doing their thing. Now there are no dogs who even want to get outdoors. I know ours doesn't. Kids are warned not to play outside without adult supervision. Gardeners have little to garden after almost a week of this heat and humidity. The streets are empty, and the heavy mist we used to call air is full of polutants that hang greyly over the valley. It feels like it's about to rain in my living room, and so I'm stuck here in the small room with my wife and the air conditioner, each of us doing something on our computers. With any luck, the bedroom will be cool enough to accommodate a sleep in about an hour or so.
Call me a wuss, but I moved to the west coast to get away from heat and humidity. BUt a change is happening. I have a theory that east weather is switching with west weather. And that means that for a season while they're crossing country, east will meet west. The twain will have met.
I guess the heat is getting to my brain, because for the life of me I cannot recall the connection I had in mind for heat and Argent. Except maybe that it seems like forever before the cool air will arrive. And this song is timeless too. (bit of a stretch there?)
But here it is anyway.

Harden up Cap thats not hot!!!!!
I knew you'd weigh in on this one Mitchy. Guess I won't be visiting you any time soon.
its winter here and down to 5deg c tonight-might have to shut some windows( for 10 years i worked in a minus25 deg c environment).. You are always welcome at my humble abode
I'm with mitchy on this one - that's not hot at all - hell, I went for a 10K run in stuff like that yesterday. Suck it up capn'! :-)
Didn't 3 dog night cover this tune? nice
One of the best tunes off of that first album, which contained a couple of Zombiesque tracks. After that, Argent pretty much went off the rails, IMHO.
Being a prog-lover you would most likely disagree.
Harden up Mitchy. That's not cold!
Funny, Mark, but I don't see Argent as Prog, even though that's their classification. BUt then again, I don't know what happened to them after this album.
You callin' the weather forecasters Liars? Well, yeah, maybe not so much lying, but not so great guessing. It's been a weird-a** weather year tout le monde.
Most everyone around here is asking where Summer is because it has been unseasonally cool. But I have no compliants never have liked it to warm 70-75 is good enough for me.
I take it the song is meant for the weathermen everywhere.
nice song ..haven't heard in awhile. Argent leaned more to the prog side of things athough the did do som pop kind of songs. the 2nd album was Ring of Hands and the 3rd All together now, 1972, had their biggest hit since the Zombies probably due to the former Zombies Chris White co writingand producing the album. The song was called Hold Your Head Up.
Yeah, I have to say that is not so hot...but then again I've lived in FLA long enough that if it's NOT incredibly humid, I am very pleasantly surprised....
I am not crazy about this song but I do like Hold Your head Up
Tourists/visitors must be wondering what happened to "sunny Hawaii." It's raining outside, in a "the sun keeps shining
Thru' the pouring rain" way. But it's Hurricane season, June through November, and it's been bone dry otherwise. Argent sounds more interesting than Three Dog Night, as TV weather forecasters shade their best guess of tomorrow's "umbrella or beach ball" day.
