Nick Drake

~~

Nick drake was one of those artists whose fame came after he died. During his short life (he died at age 26) he released three records - "Five Leaves Left" (1969), "Bryter Layter" (1970), and "Pink Moon" (1972).

There are very few pictures of him as an adult, and each year the cry for more of his music gets louder, obviously without any reciprocation.

His was a life of depression and insomnia, and in November, 1974 he died of an overdose of anti-depressants.

His bio is fascinating. Read it here

You know....N.D. is a mystery to me.....sometimes his music just seems so right, so appropriate to a certain mood or time.  At other times.......C'mon dude!  Get over it!!

I doubt he could get over it. Real depression is a horrible thing.

All of his albums are essential, and the biography of him by Patrick Humphries is a must-read. Pink Moon just about trumps Five Leaves Left for me.
