SUTC - The Doors - Stairway to Heaven
Yes, you read it right. Now the Doors, Jim Morrison in particular, have never been a huge favorite of mine, although I do see the draw.
This is supposedly a rare offering of the Led Zeppelin classic, although I have no idea why. I know I'd never heard it before.

For a few seconds there, I thought: "OMG! Jim Morrison's gonna recite the song in a 'William Shatner' way." But then, the rest of the band steps in and Led Zep gets the psychedelic Doors treatment. Considering that the across-the-street neighbor's kids were Led Zep fans who listened then played Page & Co. loudly enough to be heard all too clearly, this version makes me smile...
(Getting blasted by Led Zep for weeks on end turned me from indifferent to "SHUT DAT DAMNED NOISE OFF!" until recently. Now I'm back to indifferent.)
The Doors are a band I really have to be in the mood for to listen to. I think Oliver Stones version of the Doors is better than the real life Doors....Also is this song for real? I've never heard about it either.
You can hear Stairway to Heaven backwards on the wiki:

this is not by the doors with Jim Morrison. This song STH came out in 1971. It most likely is a tribute band which occurs a lot on you tube.Morrison died in july 71 the led zepplin release was in november 71.
I forgot they were still making albums after Jim's death. Your right it's probably a tribute band. I remember seeing "Full Circle" in my Mom's album collection when I was a kid.

Hmmm. Not the Doors? My Bad. Sorry.
No prob...on a side note, The Doors are not done yet. A lot of drama in their camp. Read the post Morrison years section.

I'm sure you've seen this b4:
interesting none the less
Eddie Vedder & The Doors - Roadhouse Blues This is kind of a cool version, but I think they should retire to a Vegas act status IMO.
Interesting find, whether they are the real thing or not.
The elephant in the room is that the cover of "Stairway" is inappropriate and awful. I'd think if Morrison had done that, he might have been attracted by the lyrics. But musically, it does not "swing" like a Doors tune no matter what.
Now THIS cover, on the other hand. ...
Hee hee. That mash-up parody of both Led Zep and the Doors with Jimbo is a panic. Wonder who the culprits were. Interesting how Ian Astbury got his Morrison on (hairdo and all) when he was performing with the Doors. Did they ever release an album with that line-up? (Too lazy to research it at 2 AM.)
