I usually wouldn't post such a thing as this because I usually try and be more positive as a person. but today seems right for it, so here goes.
My list of things that bug me:
1. people who stop at the top of an escalator trying to decide which way to go.
2. people who stop at the bottom of an escalator trying to decide which way to go.
3. drivers who don't see the left arrow start flashing at an intersection, and by the time they do, I miss the light
4. taking the car in for repair and being unable to replicate the engine noise that took me there in the first place.
5. being asked to reswipe my debit card - was I just ripped off?
6. ordering eggs medium well and getting them hard
7. not leaving a tip because the service was so poor, and finding out that 15% was included in the price of the meal
8. trying to pay for a parking spot with my credit card and no change in my pocket, and the machine won't accept cards, so parking anyway and getting a violation ticket
9. having my leg kicked by an old man's cane and being told to get out of my seat on the bus so he can sit (I would have given it to him btw)
10. being in a rush at the supermarket checkout and the person ahead (a woman) practically dumps her purse on the counter looking for the exact change, and then puts the purse back together again.
11. changing lines because the one next to me is going much faster, but getting there and it stops dead while someone tries to buy a product with no UPC
12. watching as the woman in the line next to me gets her purse back together and leaves and 3 more people check out in that line.
13. working with something, a tool or a small device, or whatever, and right in the middle of the job it's no where to be found
14. taking the dog out to pee and poop and she'd rather look at the sky, wander the garden, and eventually pee and poop after I've taken her back in the house
15. borrowing a power tool and having it stop dead while I'm using it
16. spending time posting brilliance on MOG but not saving it as a draft, and timing out
Stay tuned for the 15 things that cheer the heck out of me.

LOL ... I think a majority of people can relate to pretty much all of your bugs ... I know I do! :D
I sort of figured I wasn't alone in this. Thank goodness!
Did you notice that 6 of the 15 relate to being slowed down by someone? Hmmm - me too, but maybe we just need to slow down??
Good list. I have a feeling that if I composed a similar list it would be painfully evident how geeky/antisocial I am. Sample item: When I'm listening to music with my sound-isolating earphones and reading a book on the bus, and people still try to start conversations with me.
Most excellent list..
Another driving one:The car in front of you goes so slowly toward the intersection so that you are the first to miss the light.
In general these things are mostly about people not noticing that there are other people living in the world with them.
great list - the frustrations of out modern society. almost all brought about by technology, cavemen didn't have these problems! (I'll take my eggs scrambled and loose please....it's wort 20% if you get it right!)
The positive thing to do would be take the gift learning patience with others who don't realize that your time is more important than they are.
I'm not saying my time is imporatnt, I'm just saying folks should be considerate of others. I think that in places like NYC when we are all living on top of each other it is crucial that one realizes their surroundings. I have major empathy for folks who are having problems, but if you are driving down the street slowly looking for an address, pull over and let those not looking for an address pass you. If you are at the counter of a store and are having issues with your purse or with UPC codes or with the checker, a brief acknowledgement of the folks in line behind you goes a long way. Everyone has issues that cause your day to go wrong or hold you up..I think it is fair to recognize folks around you, 'cause you don't live in a vacuum. By doing this you actually gain empathy from the people who might be apt to get frustrated with you.
I like NYC cause people will tell you when you are holding them up..'cause sometimes you don't even realize it. To some that makes New Yorkers pushy, but to New Yorkers it is just being honest.
I admit NYC is a differant case. I have been there a few times and the pace at which one lives there was hard for me to deal with. I guess I am a midwesterner at heart. I have never enjoyed living life at a frantic pace. My point was that sometimes your inner self is telling you to slow down and most people aren't aware that they need to. They just escalate their own stress to themselves and others.
I totally get that CP. I attempt to slow down my life as much as possible and having a seven year old has aided me with my patience. I have a pretty simple life and I try to keep it that way. Like you say, in NYC there are a different set of issues that not all folks have to deal with, so when somebody is selfish with time or space it usually effects somebody else.
OK, time to do some yoga:) Have a good weekend.
You can get rid of 1, 2, 10, and 12 instantly if you move to the UK :)
No supermarkets in the UK Anna??? No Escalators? Why would I move there? (Actually, ny wife's a Brit so we'll be visiting one day)
Great comments all. Seems like I have to stay away from NYC and the UK has some strange characteristic I'm not sure about.
Great points, all......and I love the Foo Fighters!!!!
People are very polite and well-behaved when in queues, escalators, supermarkets, or anything of the sort :)
