Bob Dylan by Pink Floyd

Posted about 3 years ago

I can't remember the thread of thought that brought me to find this, but I'm glad I took it. This has got to be rare, and if not, certainly obscure. Or maybe I just need to go buy some Barrett.

I get the feeling Syd wasn't a huge Bob fan. He was, however, a poetic genius like Bob in his own right.

I always wondered if this was a nod or a dig.

    What do you think?

I think it was a dig. You can hear the sardonic smile as he pokes fun at the legend he himself wants to be.

I agree that it seems to be more of a dig.

Yeah, a dig---the sarcasm is unmistkable (unless I'm mistaken)---but it's funny and I like it.

"The wind, you can blow it." Yeah, it's a dig.

I was always a bit perplexed by this song, but listening to it now and reading the comments here it makes more sense to me.
