Well, CDs don't have B-sides anymore... but I'm just old enough to remember having to get up and flip over that LP or Cassette to hear the tracks from the second side. I don't miss the days of flipping, lazy American that I am. But I do miss the whole idea of a second or B-side. Long gone are the days when you could get those really cool unreleased album tracks. Now what you get are remixes and radio edits.
Lately though, I noticed that some of my favorite CDs have really brilliant tracks for the last song on what would be the second side. This song was what made me start looking at last tracks. I'm enamored of this band anyway... Favourite Worst Nightmare would be on my personal list of what I call Perfect Records, that is albums that don't have any tracks that I skip. But my favorite track on this record is the bittersweet little ballad at the end. I can only say that it makes me think of walking alone at night to your boyfriend's (or girlfriend's) house in the middle of the night to rap on the window just for a kiss... well, maybe not just a kiss.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. I do. Every damned day. And I will, until a new song comes along to supplant it.
So, what's your favorite last track?

...one last note: I cannot get the mp3 upload to work so I'm posting YouTube instead.

Can't think of a favourite 'last track' at the moment, but enjoyed your selection. Merci!

You're welcome... I'm glad you enjoyed it!

YES.
Just yes.
I make a point of listening to the last track, even if I think most of the album is crap. After looking at your mog, I just thought, "She does like the last songs on the OG Duran Duran Albums, right?"
I can't even image my life without 'The Chauffeur!"
But on your topic, The Arctic Monkeys are just incredible. I've seen them a few times now and I am always impressed. And as for a last song, 505 is great.

I love the last tracks on the OG Duran albums and a few of the newer ones as well...
The Chauffeur (Rio) Tel Aviv (self titled - 1st) The Seventh Stranger (which I can't even listen to without listening to the track before it - Tiger Tiger. Brilliant song! Seven and The Ragged Tiger) Downtown (Liberty) Sin of the City (The Wedding Album) Edge of America/Lakeshore Driving (I don't count the remix of Drug... because it's a remix and already appeared early in the track listing on Big Thing) Still Breathing (Astronaut)
I think Duran has some great last tracks on most of their records. I hope the upcoming CD will be no exception.
As for Arctic Monkeys, they are my favorite thing to listen to right now... they stole me away from Minus the Bear, who stole me away from Bloc Party. I think all three bands are fantastic. But of the three AM is my favorite. I hope to see them live at some point until then... "I'm going back to 505..." because it's the shit!
