i'm sure this has already burned up the mogosphere for months already, but fuck me i love this band. i miss scotland so much it burns. even glasgow. i had such a blast there. such a great fucking city and it so doesn't (but sometimes it does) deserves it's bad rap.

So good!
You've got to be Richard Simmons happy not to feel the pain in Scott Hutchison voice. Somebody wronged him and I want to thank them for the wonderfully sad music they helped him create.
I was late to the party too...I usually am.
Alex,
You've sold me. People have recommended this band to me for awhile, but until hearing 4 tracks in a row I hadn't really gotten it. What a fine proselyte you make. Has there always been a great Scottish scene, or does there just seem to be one now? If The Twilight Sad toured with Frightened Rabbits and a couple of others, damn, get a little promo and maybe some folks would notice.
This, btw, is how I used to use that free site that got basically shut down because it was hurting the music industry - I'd find about three songs by someone I was curious about, then determine whether to buy the album. God knows how many albums I bought because of that method.
totally acceptable. i never get sick of this band.
and you reminded me that i haven't heard them in awhile.
loves this band so much. they've been kicking it a while. didn't see them when i lived in scotland, didn't know about them then but i'm sure they were hitting the wegie club scene then. i'll try and get up some stuff from their "singing the greys" record tomorrow. i just loves these guys. i go weak in the knee region for a lovely wegie accent...
Oh my, I love this band...excellent choices. never been to scotland, but their music makes me want to go badly.
Off topic Cali but check out a recent movie about some very down and out folk in Glasgow, Red Road. Well acted, very grim and graphic.
hey I just got a good whiff of this band tonight and will post the song that did it, thanks, I probably would not have even had my sniffer out if it wasn't for your post! Cheers, INdy x
I had the immense pleasure of seeing FR when they opened for Pinback last spring. The drummer was a honey, and actually put me on their guest list...very very nice guys.
And the music...sublime.
oh, to be in the UK for their shows...right? :)
what a set...pinback and fr...you fucking suck ;)
did I mention that I was on the band's guest list? yeah...I was with the band. heh. :)
