Violent Femmes

So Wednesday, my best friend/roommate and I went to see the Violent Femmes play at The House of Blues in Anaheim, CA - otherwise known as Disney Hell-Sprawl. For the most part, the evening was pretty fun. Even the traffic-consumed drive down from Pasadena wasn't too terrible (mostly because we got to see the Mesopotamian outlet mall, complete with faux-ancient Persian sphinxes). After nearly getting killed by about 15 different black Excursions - including 1 limo Excursion - we managed to find a parking space relatively close to Timbuktu. After the arduous trek, we finally emerged in the plastic, shiny, wallet-emptying world of Disney Downtown. Finally we got into the H.O.B. and the night continued to degrade. I'll spare you anymore tedious, mindboggling, frustrating details, but they involve several people vomiting on the GA floor, waaaaay too many drunk people, drunk adults picking fights with scrawny, terrified teenagers, and a perfectly fantastic show being totally ruined by said O.C. fucktards. How bad was it? Before that night, the only person who got deemed "fucktard" was Britney Spears. Now Anaheim and the O.C. in general join the pop princess. The Violent Femmes, however, were great - sooooo much fun. We had each seen them before, but seperately, and we each concurred that they played the exact same set, but it was nevertheless a rollicking good time. But, and I swear this on my soul, I will never set foot in The House of Blues or Anaheim ever again. Fucking fucktards...
