WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

way-back machine v69: David Gilmour

...in New York City on this date in 2006...Opening night of a run in NYC...by the time 2006 was over I managed to see all four living members of Pink Floyd, though not all at the same time! Richard Wright was Gilmour's keyboard player at this show and Nick Mason played drums with Waters at Madison Square Garden. Quite honestly, after seeing this show (and Waters a bunch of times over the years), I feel no need for a Floyd reunion. The shows won't be any better, the venues will be mammoth and the tickets will be 4x the price...Another point worth mentioning about this show: Crosby and Nash came out and sang the vocal parts they added to Gilmour's most recent studio album (which this tour was in support of), but better than that, they came out and sang on Shine On You Crazy Diamond and Find the Cost of Freedom, both of which are included below. This bundle of tracks has some great moments. Enjoy.
