YOU CAN'T NOT GET NO SATISFACTION

Black Sabbath in New Haven

Posted about 1 year ago
Black Sabbath with support acts W.A.S.P. and Anthrax at the Veteran's Memorial Coliseum, New Haven, Connecticut, March 29, 1986.This was my first time seeing Sabbath - and the first night Ray Gillen was their vocalist! He replaced Glenn Hughes, whose last show was a few nights earlier in Glens Falls, NY. Ray did a yeoman's job, hitting the mark on all of the various sections of the band's catalog...the recording of this show is kinda crappy but its an interesting show...Also features Ray's only performance of "No Stranger to Love", which was the single from Seventh Star, the record the band was touring behind...Setlist:Intro: Supertzar The Mob Rules Children Of The Sea Danger Zone War Pigs Heart Like A Wheel Medley: Symptom of the Universe [instrumental] -> Sweet Leaf -> Zero The Hero [instrumental] -> Sphinx (The Guardian) -> Seventh Star No Stranger To Love Guitar Intro -> Black Sabbath Turn To Stone -> Eric Singer's Drum Solo -> Turn To Stone [reprise] Neon Knights Heaven and Hell -> Guitar Solo I -> Orchid -> Guitar Solo II -> Sabbath Bloody Sabbath [band re-enters; instrumental - main riff] -> Guitar Solo III [with band] -> Heaven and Hell [reprise] Paranoid Download the show - two zip files here.

  2. mollifire says HEAVY! sounds like a cool show, despite the sudden switch of singer. i LOVE Sabbath, but i can only imagine what it was like to see them live. Paranoid was a fave, Planet Caravan, War Pigs, most of which is on that set list...

  3. Charley Rogulewski says ok. this may be a little off topic, but i just finished my first ever Rock Band session as a drummer and the Black Sabbath song on PS3 pumped me up! thanks for leading me to some more ... i just wish i could play the set list on Rock Band.
