...at the Cape Codder Cafe in New Haven, CT on this date in 1990...Don't know if you are down with any vintage '70s prog-rock but Renaissance was one of my favorites from that crew. Annie Haslam was their lead singer. Heavy-up on the folk/classic side of things, they had some really great songs and were interesting for their almost total lack of guitar usage and for Annie's supposed five octave voice.Over the years Annie made or appeared on records with a lot of the British cats of that era - Larry Fast, Steve Howe, Steve Hacket, Tony Visconti, etc. None of the work, in my opinion, is as listenable as the stuff from Renaissance. For this show, at a dive bar in New Haven which normally hosted lame Dead cover bands, Annie did some "greatest hits" and material from her latest solo album. For downloads, we'll stick with Renaissance:click here for two MP3s from the show
