BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN - MAGIC – After hearing this, it's hard not to wish that Bruce would record this way all the time. No hillbilly Pete Seger sessions here, this is the E-STREET BAND.(13.) MILES DAVIS – THE COMPLETE ON THE CORNER SESSIONS - The music on this album influenced every single thing that came after it in jazz, rock, soul, funk, hip-hop, electronic and dance music, ambient music, and even popular world music, directly or indirectly.(14.) ROGER POWELL – FOSSIL POETS - Longtime Utopia fans will surely be pleased with this album that signals Powell's return from the "missing person's list." THE WHITE STRIPES – ICKY THUMP - Icky Thump is just plain heavy, dominated by primal, stomping rock that feels like it's been caged for a very long time and is just now being released. (16.) FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE – TRAFFIC AND WEATHER - Traffic and Weather is hardly a bad record, and should satisfy anyone who has loved Fountains of Wayne before.(17.) RADIOHEAD – IN RAINBOWS - In Rainbows will hopefully be remembered as Radiohead's most stimulating synthesis of accessible songs and abstract sounds.(18.) BATTLES - MIRRORED - Mirrored is unlike any recording out there at the moment. Astonishingly sophisticated, and doesn't feel pretentious in the least.(19.) BRANDI CARLISLE – THE STORY - The Story fulfills the promise of her remarkable debut, offering resounding confirmation that Carlile is a singular talent.(20.) I Will Not pick Chicago over GREEN BAY since the Packers are still fighting for Home Field advantage in the playoffs. I also Will Not pick Carolina over DALLAS, for the same reason, do you know what I mean (Lee Michaels). However, I am picking the DETROIT LIONS at home over KC 26 - 16 as my Bonus-LOCK instead. My double Bonus – LOCK this week is JACKSONVILLE over the Raiders 30 – 13, also covering the spread as the favorite. In my 50 - 50 games I’ll take MINNESOTA over Washington 24 – 23, on a last minute field goal by Ryan Longwell. I also like the GIANTS this week in a Classic 50 – 50 matchup, over the Bills 20 – 19, also covering the spread, whatever it is. And my Fake – Out for NFL Week 16 is PHILADELPHIA over New Orleans 27-26. bubb says Thats alright deadmandeadman. For some reason, at the last moment right before gametime, I substituted Gaffney for the Colts Anthony Gonzalez. I figured the weather would be better for the wide receivers in Oakland. Turned out i won last week anyway and I am playing in my leagues Fantasy Football championship this week. Man, I couldn't believe the game Tom Brady had though last week. Thats the one that really killed me in my other Fantasy Football league. Especially since my opponent had David Garrard and he had 3 touchdown passes and tons of passing yardage against the Steelers at Pittsburgh. Go figure? Thanks for the kudos On 'The White Stripes'. And Laura says Hello!

dermahrk says Silly me. Almost missed the great comments on music. The new FOW is, although disappointing after the last one, still a great CD. And Roger Powell - do I remember reading that it's mostly instrumental and thus sounds nothing like Utopia? That would not be an incentive. And, do you know anything about the bad feelings between Roger and Todd?

Marigold says Minnesota over the Redskins aye? I will actually be at that game tomorrow night. I guess I really do not care who wins but it should at least be fun since both teams need the game very bad. I will say hi to Laura for you all.

bubb says dermahrk, Roger Powell was recently interviewed on RundgrenRadio.com and there did not appear to be any bad feelings from him towards Todd. However, I still like Powell's solo cd's although they do not sound like Utopia. Since, there is still great keyboards/synthesizer work by him on Fossil Poets. Powell is still my favorite synthesizer player. Marigold says It was hard to hold the camera steady because the stands were shaking and I had my digital camera on max zoom. I am not sure if you can tell on this picture, but that IS Laura. Also, they mentioned over the entire PA that she made the pro-bowl for Vikings cheerleaders. I never new they had a pro-bowl for cheerleaders. We had a good time at the game. I took a lot of crap for wearing my Farve jersey, but it was all in good fun. At one point some of the Viking fans were asking me if I could go in and replace Tarvaris Jackson. lol. Oh, and here is a quote from one of the fans sitting behind me at the game. "This whole loss thing is really going to ruin Jesus' birthday for me" I was laughing my ass off. Funny stuff.
