WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Sunken Treasure: Live In The Pacific Northwest

Posted over 2 years ago
So, about a week or two ago I purchased Sunken Treasure: Live In The Pacific Northwest. This DVD is a compilation of songs performed by Jeff Tweedy (of Wilco) over his February 2006 acoustic tour of five different venues in the pacific northwest (Seattle’s Moore Theater, Portland’s Crystal Ballroom, Eugene’s McDonald Theater, Arcata’s Humboldt State University, and The Fillmore in San Francisco). It really is an amazing show that he puts on. I've been a Wilco fan for sometime but never have seen them in concert, so I don't know what ot compare it to, but to me, seeing these songs stripped down the way they are on the DVD, to just guitar and vocals, makes them much more intimate and meaningful. And besides the performances on the DVD, there are introductions to each showwhere Jeff gives some insight into his creative process and thoughts in general. It's very interesting. Also, the DVD includes the access to all the audio versions of these songs that you can download off their website. I've been listening to them constantly, you will not be disappointed. Check it out. Or atleast check out the new song "The Thanks I Get" (you can listen on the Wilco's myspace page ---> www.myspace.com/wilco)I believe this DVD was released in October '06...but who cares if it's not new. If you didn't know about it 'til now, then now you kno.

  2. broseph4 says yea, that's from "Company In My Back "off A Ghost Is Born, a lot of Tweedy's lyrics are kind of obscure like that. I'm glad you liked the review tho.
