Not feeling this track... I have the classic complaints nas usually receives from fans.

The hook is wack, and the production is blah. sometimes his lyrics are enough to overcome that, but not in this instance.

It got a Made You Look vibe to it, but everything dialed down a notch or two. It's always good to hear the flow though.

We have come a long way from what video soundtracks use to be.

ohhh that's my favorite! i can't look at mario 1 without having flashbacks to my basement/toy room. a lot of mario, duck hunt, tetris and some Bonk's Adventure on TurboGraphix 16!!!!

First, I agree w/ Frost. I think the song's good for the game, but I would be disappointed to hear the track on a full CD. War is Necessary, but Nas doesn't really address the issue of war (street wars or world wars). So, I'm kinda "meh" on the overall feel of the track.

Second, I love the Mario theme... especially the dungeon

i'm really enjoying it. one of my writer friends in boston sent it to me a few weeks ago and i haven't been able to put it down. i lived there for a couple years so having local knowledge helps you get more out of it. what are you reading these days?

"War Is Neccessary", part of me agrees with that and part of me doesn't.

If I had an axe to grind, or no future... war would be neccessary to resolve my (people's) lack of options or reckoning for wrongs done.

But it's an illusion... nothing is more fleeting than victory on the battlefield.

Then again, revolution is not made by Mickey Mouse, as Carlos Fuentes or somebody once said.

I saw a live show in 1982 with Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five.

Hardly anybody was there.

Now it's been around 26 years since rap / hip-hop or similar music has been the dominant urban sound.

I can't wait for the next big thing... I hope it happens before I die.
