WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Trane

Posted over 2 years ago
Went to see the John Brown Quintet last eve. They were reviving the soul of John Coltrane. I have never sat in a concert setting to "watch" jazz. It was an odd experience. Jazz should be listened to in a windowless dive or lying down with your eyes closed letting a breeze ease you into a flow. Jazz is so layered, so many elements to follow, i found myself sitting there with my eyes closed only to be shock aroused to a room full of old white folk.
