Preparing for Def Leppard

Posted over 2 years ago
This will be the 3rd or 4th time I see Def Leppard in concert. First time at a venue as big as the Tweeter Center, which is kind of a downer because it isn't as intimate of a setting and I won't be as close to Vivian Campbell. Man oh man there is just something about an Irish guitarist. ;o)**be still my beating heart**It's classic 80s music for me. I'll never be one of those people who forgoes mainstream just because mainstrea can get ugly. If it's music and I like it then it stays in my heart. And I love Def Leppard's music.1983, single "Photograph," definitely one of my faves. Of course we all know and love "Pour Some Sugar on Me" from 1987. And there are two tracks from '93 that I adore "Two Steps Behind" and "Miss You in a Heartbeat" man they are great love songs. **swoon**Of course they have the oh so sad song "Long, Long Way To Go" which played along with my crying many nights. And all in all, I have loved everything they put out. I know some people struggled with their newer albums but I didn't. I appreciate it all. I'm such a groupie.

  1. RobinH says Def Leppard, great band. Although, I must confess to being a bigger fan of the older stuff. You know, around the first two albums. In the UK we used to have a radio show called the "Friday Rock Show":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friday_Rock_Show, which was hosted by the excellent and irreplaceable "Tommy Vance":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Vance. He was a real champion of heavy music. I originally got into Def Leppard via a very early session that they recorded for the show. Actually, a lot of bands of the whole "NWOBHM":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Wave_of_British_Heavy_Metal movement are indebted in some way to Tommy and the exposure he gave to new and unsigned bands, by playing thier early singles and inviting them down to BBC's "Maida Vale":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maida_Vale recording studios to record material for inclussion in the show.

  2. bringmeup says My favorite song is from 83, Pyromania is the best album by far. Though I do like Hysteria. The show was incredible, I had such a great time!

  3. that1guy says What has 9 arms and still sucks? Def Leppard. I dig Pyromania and Hysteria. Photograph is an awesome song, Love Bites, Animal, Rocket, the one that goes "have you ever needed someone so bad." from uhh.. Adrenalized? Yeah, that'd be a good show. I'd go if someone gave me tickets.

  4. bringmeup says Hey! **pouts** That wasn't very nice. Not every band can stick around touring, releasing new albums and reaching out to multiple generations for thirty years. =oP

  5. that1guy says Not nice, but oh so funny. ;) I don't know many people in their late teens to early 20's who like Def Leppard. I'm gonna say that most people going to see them were born, at the lastest in the mid 80's while they were still semi-popular.
