And as I careened down the interstate at irrational speeds toward my next destination tonight, Greg Dulli was screaming on the stereo and my face finally wore the first smile of the day. Because there's just something about dirty, gritty, just almost barely wandering off the rails rock and roll that the Afghan Whigs, in particular, made so beautiful to a few of us. Damn. Aren't we lucky. Damn, what was a bit character in a slightly corny NBC primetime show doing mentioning the Afghan Whigs? Who cares. It was refreshing.
