MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

If I were a family man this song could be my life. Not because I am such an alcoholic, but rather because I derive so much pleasure from abject failure when juxtaposed with the hard work and sacrifice required to not let others down. I guess it's just a matter of taking control over your own life, choosing your failures rather than risking a stab at success only to be stabbed back.

AA Coppertop says:

...Unlike "Rehab", makes being an addict sound like it's not fun sometimes.

...I'm afraid the CWK's lyrics may deserve the dreaded adjective "literary".

...If I guess who Charmander is, do I get a drink?

...The liquor store's still open for, like, two hours!

"I guess it's just a matter of taking control over your own life, choosing your failures rather than risking a stab at success only to be stabbed back." These are some very inspiring words which I will make mine, if I may.

Bartleby: I had you pegged for the type that would prefer not to (groan), but if you want to take them, they are all yours... Thank you.

AA Coppertop: I can't speak on "Rehab" as I am largely unfamiliar with the song, but I share your concern regarding the "literary" thing. Now I simply hope that I can get through the rest of the week without a sincere mention of something being "hyper-literate."

Guessing who charmander is will get you a drink, but I will drink it.

A charmander is two feet tall and weighs 19 lbs., I learn on the internet.

Hi Matt. Smell that? You're always such a breath of fresh air.

Or whiskey. Or whatever.

Hello Kristiana, it's always a pleasure to see you around. I spilled rum all over the place after putting up this post, so now I have to go and buy some stain remover.

A Rummie eh? You old salt dog, you.

Wait! Say hello! Ya never did say anything about the rest of your mixes - was any of it useful or enjoyed?

It's getting to be about that time I switch from coffee to booze. Oh, the rocknroll lifestyle. Sure will catch up with ya, in one way or another.

You know, I went around a couple weeks ago to get my tape deck back from a friend and he's all like, "oh, yeah, I had it a little close to the welder, so, you know, it doesn't work anymore." So that means that I still haven't listened to the cassette yet. I'm moving this week, so I actually expect to find some sort pf tape playing device as I get stuff ready for transport. I will update you after I get to spend some quality time with the tape.

The cd is great. I had had rapeman's version of "just got paid" on the brain right around the time it came in the mail, so its inclusion was rather fortuitous. I don't know that I can convey the amount of joy it brought to my life when sinatra popped up on the disc, either; suffice it to say I was very pleased. Listening to the opening few tracks for the first time demonstrated how long it had been since I spent enough time listening to songs that manage to just rock like hell. I am very lucky to have gotten such a wonderful gift.

Awesome! I am so glad to hear that! I really hoped it would make ya happy. Yeah, I had a feeling you'd appreciate that Sinatra, haha. How did I know? ;)

Good luck with the move. Get yourself a walkman. I still have one. The kids on the bus love it. Soon it will be cool again. Then you can be cool too, just like me. On the bus. With the kids.
