Thanks for the history lesson. So few people realize the importance unions have played in the greatness of our nation. Somewhere along the line they've been vilified (and having been fairly deeply involved for a few years, I certainly experienced corruption, incompetence, and petty politics that could support that thinking) and the good they've done for society has been overlooked. Big-money certainly has the upper hand again and let's all hope that if not unions (and most likely not) something can speak for the average working man again - soon.
thanks for the info, I love those songs but never knew what they were about. armstrong may sound like he swallows cheese graters, but he's very underrated as a lyricist.
