I forgot how much I love David Bowie. Tonight I saw Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, 35 mm, in a theatre. It was great. Like shivers great. Like hot damn, I'm jealous great.
Man, it looked so perfect. I've been in crowds like that before.... where everyone is so into it/out of it, super sweaty/groping, but everyone is just moving and you feel like you're in this weird community because everyone gets it and it's bizarrely amazing.
But Bowie man. Lately I've been into less rockin' music, which is fine and dandy, but the live rock concert man..... oh, I want that....
Moonage Daydream, on that big screen, youtube does not even compare. Really. High definition. Those legs! I don't know. I think my life changed a little bit.
I also started watching the 68' comeback special earlier in the day. They constantly played it at my old place of employment, but this time I really sat down and watched. More on that later.

Mick Ronson was such a god guitarist. I just love the noises he got out of that plank of wood. Watching this brings back lots of memories; I saw the Ziggy show about 6 times as he got popular and it was always amazing. I missed this particular show (was having a bit of I'm-bored-with-David moment) but saw him when he returned to the Hammersmith Odeon - where this was filmed - about 4 years ago. He was really funny, making all sorts of jokes about this show. Did a blazing version of Moonage Daydream as well.
Don't you wish you could have been there? I just love this. He was such an original, so ahead of his time and the music - just amazing!!
I'm so jealous of you! And yes, Mick Ronson, wow.
If I could see David Bowie live... oh man, I'd be so happy. Even though no Ziggy....who cares, it's Bowie!
Last time I saw him was on the Reality tour and he was incredible. Much better than I expected. I don't know if he'll be touring again but if you have the chance to see him live, grab it!!
