Best Beatles Cover Ever?

Posted over 5 years ago
Don't you love being surprised by cool songs you forgot you had? I just walked downstairs and my wife was playing this amazing cover of I'm Only Sleeping by Suggs...of Madness fame. "Oh yeah...we've got that on a mix...forgot all about that one."It's such a great track...bouncy ska-tinged horns, great beat, cool FX in the mix (cuckoo clock, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, etc.). I just love this song. Here's the YouTube:Could this be the best Beatles cover ever? I don't know, but I likes it!

  2. Takeshi Kovacs says I don't know who this guy is, but this made me laugh. He's so good, you may just mistake him for Paul McCartny at first.

  3. boozelegs says Now why you gotta go and do that? Damn! I wish I had a Casio Keyboard with the kick ass on board drum machine. Oh, and a video camera too...so I can make a sweet video like that. Seriously, what's your favorite Beatles cover?

  7. Takeshi Kovacs says I'm giving this some thought. I immediately thought of the Ben Harper song from the "I am Sam" soundtrack, and so I looked it up on YouTube (where I found that mystery artist) and realized, good cover - but, really, shitty song. So, not my favorite. It's late, so will deliberate until tomorrow. I know there is a better one out there.

  11. El Monko and Son says CSN does a beautiful "Blackbird." I saw Graham Nash jump onstage at a tiny Kenny Rankin club gig in Philadelphia, and they duetted on it and just slew that thang.
