I'm excited.

Posted almost 4 years ago

'Tis a good month for your favorite friendly blogger/artist/entrepreneur. The tickets came in for those second row seats at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. In less than a month, I will be a few feet away from both Conor Oberst (for the first time) and Jenny Lewis (for the third time, but it'll feel like the first anyway). Some very good stuff there, I know.

I'm also excited, oddly enough, about the writing journal my English professor assigned. Each entry is one page, single-spaced, on whatever topic my heart desires. He's not even counting off for grammar, content, or anything really. We just have to write. And let me tell you, I'm brimming with ideas. I'm planning to use the journal as a rough draft for most of my MOG entries. This will both give me something to turn in each week and help me update my MOG more often. Plus, maybe Mr. H will learn a thing or two about some new bands (and not continuously name drop The Stones as if they're the only band he listens to). I enjoy mogging, I really do, but sometimes I just get so swept up in everyday life that I forget my little passion. So in the coming days, expect to hear sweet/sarcastic/biting/hilarious commentary on new releases, old faves, and the like from yours truly. Be excited. I know I am. :)

Yes--Excited is good! How else should one approach this only day? I forget this but life always kicks me back on track. So get excited, be excited, live in a state of positive excitement! I love it. I'm just back from Outside Lands and the excitement of being there lingers AND I am excited to be back home--so I can write (it's what I do). I like your attitude toward mogging it all out like that! I haven't done too much here, feeling like the novice, but your words inspired me. Plus, I just wrote a short story (it's what I do), so life is good. And I remember an English professor assigning that same journal thing; I loved it and wrote some really free, wild, crazy and forever stuff in that little book. I look forward to reading your stuff (maybe I'll write a thing or two)!! Thanks!
