How I really got into Genesis

Posted over 2 years ago
Maybe this will only really appeal to people who know London. Back in the late 70's, someone gave me a tape of 'Trick of the Tail'. Back then, me and my 'ex' regularly used to go clubbing in Central London and when we came out in the early hours, we used to go over to the best all-night bagel factory in the whole of London to get some lox and bagels. This bagel place was in East London, (Stratford I think), and we lived in Harrow, (NW London) so we're talking of a massive detour - very worthwhile if you like great tasting lox and bagels!I used to have this album blaring out because it was a perfect album for that time of night. I've been a real Genesis fan ever since. (They've done so much good stuff but if forced to, I'd say that, IMO, the best track they ever did was 'Mama', [played REALLY LOUDLY of course!])

  1. Groon says Never been the biggest fan of Trick of the Tail. It's alright, and has some incredible moments ("Ripples" still gives me chills). Nursery Cryme is, for me, the supreme Genesis moment.
