With the single due for release on January 18, 2010 and the album from which the track is pulled - Hidden - scheduled in for the next week (Jan 25), now seems a good time for a promotional video. Originating from Southend-on-Sea and citing Wu-Tang Clan as a major influence may seem like an odd origin story.
After bringing my car to a halt, switching off the lights and the windscreen wipers, I took out my phone to look at the text message I had received while driving. A friend had written to tell me that Jack Rose had passed away the day before, at home in Philadelphia.

A sometimes forgotten fact at ATP - ATP has music. In the time it takes for us to find our chalet on the cusp of Butlins-colonised civilisation, throw down our bags, and locate a bottle of So' Co' (Southern Comfort) at the grim but conveniently situated Everydays mini-mart, roughly 80 percent of our known friends have gotten well on their ways to being happily too drunk to be fully aware of any...
The next Dodos song to garner itself a video from their latest record 'Time To Die' is track number two; 'Longform'. Midday drives through forests, summery weather, fields of corn, coast-lines and inoffensively catchy indie-pop; a perfect collection of lovable tidbits to thaw away that frosty, wintery soul of yours.
A wise man named Alexander LaVelle Harris once succinctly described the main draw of country music: "the music of pain". This should surely apply to folk also, since every morsel of Sunrise/Sunset is marinated in heartache, malady and torment. We're talking almost Johnny Cash proportions here.
The law of large numbers, also known as Bernoulli's Theorem, states that if you repeat something enough times, the patterns will begin to emerge and soon behaviour will become predictable. That feeling was beginning to come to us with post-rock music.
Frightened Rabbits third full-length album goes by the name of 'The Winter Of Mixed Drinks' and is due for release here in the UK on March 1st 2010 and March 9th in the US. Many of you may not of heard Make Good Your Escape and sadly, many of you never will as the band are now defunct, splitting up back in 2007 due to label and money troubles. Just because they no long exist doesn't mean they don't qualify for our Video Of The Week though and so proudly and lovingly, we offer to you one of their finest moments in their all too brief career.
As previously announced, the first single to be lifted from Lightspeed Champion's forthcoming record 'Life Is Sweet! Nice To Meet You' is 'Marlene' and just recently, that very single was given a new video. One member of alt-rap trio Beastie Boys and all round business cool-guy Adam Yauch started a film production and distribution company by the name of 'Oscilloscope Laboratories' a few years back in New York. Home to his very own high-school basketball documentary Gunnin' For That #1 Spot as well as the Kelly Reichardt-directed Wendy And Lucy, the company has now started a new subscription servic
At this years Grammy Awards, Radiohead took to the stage alongside the Trojan Marching Band of California to perform the 'In Rainbows' intro-track '15 Step'. It was ridiculously big in every way possible and now, you can grab yourself a copy of the collaboration on CD.
