The only tour dates left for Wild Beasts in 2009 are one tonight in Portugal for the 'Super Bock Em Stock Festival' and then one on their home-turf in Kendal on December 22nd. From 2010 onwards, the band begin their first ever US tour (not before their brief Aussie stint), taking their rather glorious new record Two Dancers on the road for seventeen days, finishing in Washington DC on February 27t
Many of you may not of heard Make Good Your Escape and sadly, many of you never will as the band are now defunct, splitting up back in 2007 due to label and money troubles. Just because they no long exist doesn't mean they don't qualify for our Video Of The Week though and so proudly and lovingly, we offer to you one of their finest moments in their all too brief career.
As previously announced, the first single to be lifted from Lightspeed Champion's forthcoming record 'Life Is Sweet! Nice To Meet You' is 'Marlene' and just recently, that very single was given a new video. What starts off as a rather normal vid (main-man Dev Hynes sitting hostage in the back of a truck, racing through a desert landscape) quickly becomes a confusedly psychedelic journey intoÂ
One member of alt-rap trio Beastie Boys and all round business cool-guy Adam Yauch started a film production and distribution company by the name of 'Oscilloscope Laboratories' a few years back in New York. Home to his very own high-school basketball documentary Gunnin' For That #1 Spot as well as the Kelly Reichardt-directed Wendy And Lucy, the company has now started a new subscription servic
At this years Grammy Awards, Radiohead took to the stage alongside the Trojan Marching Band of California to perform the 'In Rainbows' intro-track '15 Step'. It was ridiculously big in every way possible and now, you can grab yourself a copy of the collaboration on CD.
Newspaper interviews are fast becoming the "connection" pages for musical artist these days. Rather than your agent calling my agent, it now goes: Artist A expresses interest in working with Artist B during an interview. Artist B reciprocates, also in an interview.
French actress/singer Charlotte Gainsbourg has a new studio album by the name of 'IRM' due on December 7th (four days away) and has officially released the first single and video by the name of 'Heaven Can Wait'. Due on January 11th, the song features Beck on joint-vocal duty and is a stomping slice of alternative simplicity.
Heather Graham, Steven Seagal, Bruce Willis, Russell Crowe, Jennifer Lopez, David Hasslehoff, Jennifer Love Hewett. All names which lie moss-covered in the graveyard of abortive attempts for actors to turn musician. We won't even go into William Shatner, let's just say he has an appropriate surname.
You'd think that being in The Smiths and then Modest Mouse and The Cribs as well as being named as one of the best guitarist on the planet would be enough for one man but apparently not as now, Johnny Marr is delving into the film industry.
This is the second piece of Arcade Fire news we've posted in three days and also the second to feature a question-mark in the title. Why you ask? Because sometimes, things just seem a little too good to be true.
Indie big-heads Kasabian have been announced as the first 2010 'T In The Park' headliners which takes place from July 9th - 11th next year. Apparently, it was their live reputation that earned them the headline slot and speaking about the decision, Geoff Ellis of DF Concerts said: "I'm chuffed to bits that we can announce one of our headliners this early on.
What was supposed to be the joyous event of the first official live Mew album seems to be no more after the band's record label Columbia pulled the plug on it. The live recording was to be taken from one of the band's opening sets for Nine Inch Nails earlier this year and was to be called Mew: Live at the Hollywood Palladium.

The new video and single to come from The Twilight Sad's near flawless recent long-player 'Forget The Night Ahead' is 'Seven Years Of Letters' (released back in October in the UK) and in typically Twilight fashion, the accompanying visuals are as dark as hell.
We've said this before and we'll say it again: A band should not playthe day of / after they have flown across the world. Of course, this is notalways possible, but is it really that difficult to book an extranight in a hotel in order to defeat jet lag and make it so the audiencecan't immediately tell that they are walking zombies? Jet lag plus a live show a happy couple theydo not make.
