For the past few days and nights I’ve been catching up with the moody, minimalist pop of The xx. The co-ed U.K. band have quite the minor hit on their hands, and what I’m realizing after a few disappointing early listens is that it’s a grower. Also that a run is not the best circumstance for your initial listen. Try some isolation and headphones. Their debut, xx, is out now on Rough Trade.
