I stumbled upon this duo last week and really started enjoying their stuff. Though I'm sure the average indie fan (which seems to be their demographic at the moment) will dismiss them as following the increasingly derogatory genre of chillwave, Elite Gymnastics run through moments of spoken word, breakbeats, and shoegaze.Pitchfork did an interview with them today that shows a refusal to rehash and

I just completed a CSS3 cover field that uses WebKit's 3D transforms. Because the Chrome team hasn't integrated 3D transforms yet it only works on Safari. Check it out here.

A new track came to me recently, and I was inspired to fire up my amp. Quickly I realized that El Ten Eleven, through all the melody, layers waves and plays with tone in an exponentially more ethereal way than any of it's contemporaries.Cease and Persist pushes pop harder than any of their previous songs and at times finds itself lost in thought.El Ten Eleven - Cease And Persist.mp3

Up until yesterday I hadn't been transcribing at all, but something bit me, and I got to notating my favorite M83 song, Too Late. As an added bonus, I finished the piano loop from Four Tet's Unspoken which I now can't stop playing over and over. Both of these are on my sheets page so download and play'em if you're intersted.

After listening to the extremely fun and musically tricky Golden Phone I took it upon myself to grab the full album, jewellery, and was subsequently attacked by even more fits of happy. What Micachu does well is violate musical expectations the same way a great pun might point out a spot of absurdity in language. My favorite track so far has been Just in Case. I recently came across a little bit saying that the amanset would be playing SXSW, and this confirms it. They'll be gracing Club Deville on March 20th, and the newly spawned Wooden Birds have a few gigs as well. For those of us who never got a chance to see the amanset before Andrew moved on to different projects, it's an exciting thing. Sadly, I won't be in Austin any time soon so I'll just have

I found this in my songs-to-listen pile, and now it won't stop playing for some reason. The main synth riff rings M83 (which of course rings many things decades old), and the constant rock beat holds weight like a stampede. I'm going to have to explore this library which apparently has just as many remixes as original tracks. The 4th on the Floor remixes album is still TBA.West Indian Girl - To Di

M just got tipped off to Giantess and hence tipped me off to this new electrocandy called You Were Young. It sounds nothing like similarly named effort from Sam's Town, and is much more danceable. Riddled with all the right cliches, it even has the classic, lo pass buildup that was found in so many of my favorite trance songs back in 2001.M's post Giantess - You Were Young.mp3
