I read a lot of music magazines, and one of the things I like to do is find out what the editors and contributors are listening to. These are people whose jobs involve seeking out, listening to, and critiquing music, so I figure they probably know what's up. This doesn't always work, because we all have different taste, but a lot of the time it leads me to some really good shit. Lately, I've been noticing a band that keeps popping up. Frances' newest album All the While is getting a lot of play from insiders, and comparisons to Sufjan Stevens have me even more interested. Their songs are like little clouds of pop floating over giant fields of string arrangements. Check out a couple below.
