What happens when you bug the shit out of Danger Mouse ? Good things I guess. Vocalist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Helena Costas began sending Danger Mouse her home recordings way back in 2003. With DM's career progression, the two now seem to have the ways and means to make their correspondence and collaboration into a reality.

The Mouse handles production work and some instrumentation for the project, now dubbed Joker's Daughter . The name originates from one of "Helena's many shifting personae." Costas says, "The Joker's Daughter is a character who gives voice to the darkness and redemption in her psyche, often with a mischievous flair."

Costas, London born, but Greek by origin, has been making and practicing music since age seven, She is a violinist, self-taught guitarist and singer. The project also features the horns of Neutral Milk Hotel's Scott Spillane and the string arrangements of frequent Danger Mouse collaborator Daniele Luppi.

Worm's Head single is out December 9th and The Last Laugh is out February 3rd, 2009 on Team Love .
