Jam Screw

If this is the first Screw tape you have ever heard, welcome to a whole new world. Unless you have been living inside a chicken coop you will know Screw tapes are slow; pitched down until the music sounds like a vortex of textures and tones. Screw noticed that when songs are slow it does something incredible to the bass and the melody.

DJ Screw is a legend in Houston, Texas and his biography deserves much more consideration than I can give it here, but I've added this to the blog for those open minded rap fans who haven't yet heard the 'Screwed & Chopped' phenomenon.

This might not be everybody's cup of lean but it is pure Hip Hop genius, dope DJ skills, huge bags of charisma and on this particular mix, live freestyles from a long list of veteran Texas rappers.
