To make up for the fact that we are definitely NOT experiencing a heatwave (of the meteorological kind, that is) in LDN this summer I have instead been sunning myself on the massive tunes that London&Bristol natives the Heatwave have been boshing out lately.

Utilising the ragga vocal stylings of Rubi Dan and Riko Dan, TH have been creating a rumpus with their Piano Riddim and massive remixes of Tony Matterhorn and Wiley*, among others, and have been tearing up the net as well as dancefloors all around our fair city.

They will be hosting two parties on Monday the 25th, the last day of the Notting Hill Carnival. The first is Major Lazer, a release party for Diplo and Switch's new Dancehall project in Acklam Road. The second will be at the Social on Little Portland St featuring the legendary Ragga Twins and Warrior Queen live. See this as a warm up for Shimmy Shimmy's own sojourn into the world of banging Dancehall clubnights, September 4th at Anda Da Bridge 422-4 Kingsland Rd, Hackney London E2. See you there.
