Did you ever have one of those songs hit you, and just kind of connect everything you had been feeling about a certain situation but never could put your finger on it? The contempt I now feel for Classic Rock radio's generic play lists and rotation killing ways have made me listen to CD's or talk radio while in the car. The fact that so many artists can be so narrowly represented by the medium is infuriating. The fact that once beautiful songs are now over played fossils, to tired to spark even the slightest happy memory of how they made me feel when I first heard them. In some ways I am in mourning for the very format that brought these artists to my ears, bad sad for its obsolescence . When I heard "You Were Right" it felt as if the boys of Built To Spill were sharing my pain, my ennui of the overplayed. With this song they nailed shut Classic rocks coffin, and ready us for a new chapter of Rock n' Roll.
