Dee's Monolith Previews : The Presets

The Hot Freaks! , as we've stated previous, are a big part of the Monolith Music Festival this year. We'll be highlighting some of our favorite bands that are playing over the next few weeks, just in case you aren't up-to-speed...

Add The Presets to the list of Aussie bands determined to pack dancefloors these days. With a grittier, more industrial sound than fellow Aussies Cut Copy , The Presets did not hold back on their sophomore release Apocalypso , which came out last spring. Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes use their intense, massive sound to leave listeners spent in a puddle of sweat on the dancefloor. The band kicks off their North American tour with Cut Copy at Monolith. They've snagged the 9:10 p.m. spot on the Gigbot stage, which should suit their fierce sound just fine. I'm worn out just thinking about it.
