History of Rock, Part 2: First Wave of Rock

Since this Monday was a holiday, I was unable to hold my class for History of Rock and Roll, so this is from last week's topic of discussion, in continuation with the History of Rock series (click to read more about this).

Today's theme!
First Wave of Rock / Rockabilly
Topics, artists/bands, and genres discussed and played included: early country music styles, such as Western swing, bluegrass, honky-tonk, blues and R&B played by country musicians (Bill Haley), the beginnings of rockabilly (Sam Phillips' formation of Sun Records, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, Eddie Cochran), and rockabilly-influenced rock (Buddy Holly, Everly Brothers).
