NEON NEON - DREAM CARS

In 1985 The DeLorean DMC-12 was thrust into the global consciousness with a staring role in the first Back To The Future movie. Its gull-wing doors, muscular design and ability to span space and time cemented its place in popular culture as an icon of cool.In 2008, Neon Neon's single Dream Cars, maintains our love affair with the iconic vehicle as Gruff Rhys and Boom Bip indulge in a smooth ride of car-stereo electronic, soaring synths providing the soundtrack to an 80s drive through the city. It's an enjoyable journey but no more than this. There's something rather wistful about the sound of Dream Cars, as if the writers are looking back on a fond memory that they seek to somehow live again. Fans of Stainless Style might well point to other album tracks such as Raquel, I Told Her On Alderaan or Lust You as a deeper of source inspiration.
