-
Artist:
The house in Encino, CA does not have Funicello's name on the property records, per the Los Angeles Times, but neighbors confirmed that the singer had been a resident there for a number of years. Funicello has suffered from multiple sclerosis since the 80's.
A spokesman for the fire department said that they received the call at 7:21 AM on Thursday and had the fire extinguished in 30 minutes. Photos and film from the scene show that the structure suffered severe damage. Memorabilia could be seen on the wall of the interior.
Arson investigators are looking into the cause of the fire. Funicello is said to be in good condition.
Annette starred in the 50's version of the Mickey Mouse Club and had five top forty hits including Tall Paul (1959/#7), O Dio Mio (1960/#10) and Pineapple Princess (1960/#11). She later went on to star in a series of beach movies with Frankie Avalon.
