Capitol/EMI have announced a January 27 release date for Brian Wilson 's new DVD, That Lucky Old Sun . The companion to his critically acclaimed album from earlier this year will contain a full live performance of the work along with a feature length documentary and other extras.
The album has been given rave review by magazine like Rolling Stone, which called it "Brian's strongest new work in years", along with accolades from Spin, Mojo and Uncut. Pitchfork called it "his finest non-Smile album since the golden age of the Beach Boys . That Lucky Old Sun neatly closes the circle he began drawing in 1961 with the single Surfin' , returning him to an idealized Southern California..."
