The motion picture Pirate Radio tells the fictionalized story of one of the ships that broadcast popular music illegally into Britain and Europe during the mid-60's. Governments ran most broadcast radio at the time and the popular music of the day was not played or offered at very limited times. The pirate radio stations anchored in international waters off the coast and gave the youth of the continent the music they craved but couldn't receive from normal broadcasters.

The soundtrack is full of the hits of the day along with a few that will be more familiar to those in Britain. There will be discussion over a couple of cuts that were released after the time in which the picture is set (Cat Steven's Father & Son, David Bowie's Let's Dance). Also included is a new recording of Stay With Me Baby by Welsh soulstress Duffy.
