- Michael Jackson stays at number 2 on the Album chart with This Is It, denied the top spot by the Foo Fighter's Greatest Hits.
- Slayer's first new album in three years, World Painted Blood, premiers at number 9.
- The Beatles' Stereo Box, containing all of the reissued albums plus a DVD of the documentaries on each one, debuts at 45.
- Two hits packages also return to the Album chart with Creedence Clearwater's Chronicles reappearing at 26 while the Very Best of The Doors returns at 47.
- John Fogerty's Blue Ridge Rangers Ride Again surges ahead to become the top album on the country chart by a veteran artist, moving 13 to 7.
