No, the Buffett Hotel is not a new chain to compliment Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville cafes. It's the name of an actual hotel in Timbuktu, Mali that was the hub for music after the country received independence in 1960. The title track from Buffett's album has a strong influence from the West African country where the singer played the Festival in the Dessert and became enamored with the local sound.

The new album is produced by Michael Utley and Mac McAnally and contains twelve new tracks, including the theme song from his summer tour, Summerzcool. Joining Buffett on the album are guests Sonny Landreth, Jake Shimabukuro, Cedric Burnside, Steve "Lightnin'" Malcome and Toumani Diabate. Also in the package is a 24-page book with lyrics and stories about Buffett's trip to West Africa that produced many of the songs.
