Andrew Lloyd Webber Diagnosed With Cancer

Andrew Lloyd Webber, the composer who has given the world Jesus Christ, Superstar, Evita, Cats, Phantom of the Opera and many more has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Webber's reps announced on Sunday that the disease was caught in the early stages and started treatment on Saturday evening at an undisclosed private hospital. It is expected he will return to work by the end of the year.

Webber has been working on his sequel to Phantom, Love Never Dies, which still is expected to debut in London this coming March 9 with a production opening on Broadway on November 11 of next year. He is also producing a new stage version of The Wizard of Oz.
