Producer Paula Wagner has announced she is putting on a new original musical based on the career of Run-DMC. According to variety Joseph "Rev Run" Simmons and Darryl "DMC" McDaniels are meeting with Wagner to discuss the venture. Wagner told Variety "I feel their story lends itself perfectly to the stage. This project has been a passion of mine for some time and I couldn't be more thrilled to be working with them."

Simple Minds and OMD (Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark) are going out on the road together in the U.K. and have announced they will be playing Kraftwerk's song Neon Lights together during the show. Both had previously recorded the song but had never played it together.

How many times can you listen to Kenny Rogers' The Gambler in a row? An even bigger question is, how many times can Kenny Rogers SING The Gambler in a row? The answer to the second question is evidently twelve because that's how many times he sang the song the other night at the request of hedge-fund manager Raj Rajaratnam who paid $4 million for a private performance by the singer. Rajaratnam requested the song over and over until, after an even dozen performances, Rogers refused to do it again.
The Flaming Lips have the highest charting album of their career as Embryonic will debut at number 8 this week with sales of 32,000. Reflecting the downward slide of the music business, it is NOT their biggest sales week. In 2006, At War With the Mystics premiered at number 11 but with sales of 48,000.
Barbra Streisand keeps plugging along as Love is the Answer holds steady at number 4 on sales of 49,000.
Overall sales for the year stand at 275.6 million units, down 13% from the same time last year.
