Streisand To Do Intimate Concert, Auction Memorabilia

Posted 4 months ago
Barbara Streisand gets ready for the release of her new album, Love is the Answer, with an intimate performance at New York's Village Vanguard on Saturday, September 26. She last performed at the venue in 1961 as opening act for Miles Davis.

Tickets for the event will be free but only available to those who have pre-ordered the new CD or have registered at Streisand's website.

Then, on October 17 and 18, Streisand will auction off some of her memorabilia, including costumes from movies like Funny Girl and Meet the Fockers, paintings, furniture and other items. Proceeds will go to the Streisand Foundation which supports numerous causes.

Streisand said "What good does it do in storage. Let someone else enjoy it. These things, they're not forever. We pass them on and reap the benefits for something important."

The auction lots will be displayed prior to the auction on the Queen Mary 2 in Los Angeles, in New York and in Ireland. The auction will take place at the Beverly Hills Hilton.
