Rhino Releases 60 Digital 45's

Rhino Records has joined EMI in releasing what is hoped to be an ongoing series of Digital 45s. For those that missed our story yesterday, both companies have released the digital equivalent to the old 45, with an A (hit) side and a B (normally lesser known or rare) side along with artwork of the original sleeve, if there was one.

Rhino's initial release, also made yesterday (Tuesday), includes 60 Digital 45s from their vast licensed holdings. iTunes has opened a special area where the packages are available with prices for each (both tracks and artwork, if available) for $1.49 or $1.99.

One of the draws of these packages is that, in some cases, the B-side is rare and may have never been released digitally or on CD. Such is the case with tracks like James Taylor's I Can Dream of You and Jackson Browne's The Crowe On the Cradle.

Look for Rhino to release approximately 25 new bundles each month.
