AEG Live isn't waiting long to try and recoup some of their losses with the death of Michael Jackson. They have announced that, starting Monday, people will be able to buy the This is It concerts memorabilia that was going to be sold during Jackson's run at the O2 Arena in London.
Their statement explained ““As we mourn the loss of one of the greatest talents the world has ever seen, we are only beginning to feel the impact that Michael left upon us all. A variety of official merchandise commemorates this incredible talent and preserves the legacy that is Michael Jackson.”House leader Nancy Pelosi has shut down Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee's attempt for a resolution honoring Michael Jackson. Pelosi was afraid that the debate surrounding the proclamation could degenerate due to "contrary views" on the singer's life.Joe Perry has let out another clue as to the injury to Steven Tyler that has forced the Aerosmith show cancellations. "Better Steven recovers fully than halfway n strains his leg again." Fans who saw the June 29 show in Connecticut have said that Tyler may have hurt his leg on stage during the performance.So far seven dates have been postponed through this coming Monday's Ft. Lauderdale show.
The radio documentary Amazing Grace: The Story of Willie Nelson won a Gold Medal at the international New York Festivals. Producer David Brown said, "This is a pretty neat award because it is judged by a grand jury of our peers from all over the world. It’s cool to be up against the best from BBC and other public radio stations from the U.S. and abroad."

Heavy Metal band Metal Church have called it quits after a 28-year career. Their first album was released in 1984 and were touted early in their career by Metallica. Their final album, This Present Wasteland, was released last year.
They posted the following explanation on their MySpace page. "There has been far too much frustration and disappointment in trying to keep moving forward. The collapse of our record company, SPV, has made it next to impossible for us continue in any kind of professional manner due to lack of tour support. This decision was not made lightly."
