Diamond Goes Exclusive With Wal-Mart for Hot August Night/NYC

One of the triumphs of Neil Diamond's career was the 1972 live album Hot August Night. The album captured the excitement of a Diamond live show in a way that had been much less successful on the previous Gold.

On August 14, Diamond recaptures the excitement of that landmark with Hot August Night/NYC, a live album culled from his four-night run at Madison Square Garden in August 2008. This time around, the album consists of a 28-track DVD and an accompanying 10-track CD with highlights from the shows. Note that the CD contains three songs that do not appear on the DVD (Shilo, September Morn, Heartlight) The DVD also includes a bonus feature of Diamond touring and talking about where he grew up in Brooklyn.

CBS will be presenting a special on the release day from 8 to 9 eastern with highlights from the DVD and some of the hometown footage.
